Exports to the US Expected to Exceed $16 Billion by Year-End

Exports to the US Expected to Exceed $16 Billion by Year-End
Türkiye İhracatçılar Meclisi (TİM) Başkanvekili Güleç, stating that exports to the US reached $13.4 billion in the first 10 months of this year, with a 9.2 percent increase compared to the same period of the previous year, said that they expect it to exceed $16 billion by the end of the year.
According to the statement made by TİM, while Turkish exporters continue to meet with buyers from all over the world, 18 people representing 13 companies from 10 different sectors participated in the trade delegation organized to Houston, USA, in coordination with the Ministry of Trade. The delegation, headed by TİM Vice President Ahmet Güleç, held more than 200 bilateral business meetings with 120 US companies.
In the statement, Ahmet Güleç, whose evaluations regarding the delegation program were included, drew attention to the fact that the US is the world's largest importer, with imports of $3.1 trillion last year.
Güleç, stating that Turkey's exports to the US last year were 15 billion dollars, said, "Despite the difficulty in meeting costs and the weakening of our competitiveness, we are performing better in this large market this year."
"The US has become our second largest market"
Emphasizing that exports to the US reached 13.4 billion dollars in the first 10 months of this year, with a 9.2 percent increase compared to the same period of the previous year, TİM Vice President Güleç stated that they predict that 16 billion dollars will be exceeded by the end of the year, and added the following:
"With this performance, the US has become our second largest market. We are carrying out special studies for the US market in order to maintain the same increasing trend in 2025 as well. For example, in the 11-month period of this year, TİM and exporter unions carried out national participation and 'info stand' participation in a total of 54 fairs in the USA. In addition, 6 trade delegations and 1 purchasing delegation were organized to the USA again. Most recently, we organized a delegation to Houston with the participation of 18 people representing 13 companies from 10 different sectors. Companies from the iron and non-ferrous metals, steel, air conditioning, electrical electronics, chemical substances, cement, glass, ceramics and soil products, machinery, furniture, paper and forest products, textiles and fresh fruit and vegetable sectors were included in the delegation. Our delegation, which was met with great interest, held a total of more than 200 bilateral business meetings with representatives of 120 US companies."
Güleç drew attention to the fact that despite the US being in a distant geography, it has great potential for Turkey, and added that they will continue to use every opportunity to evaluate this potential.
On the other hand, a trade delegation was also organized to Tokyo, the capital of Japan, by TİM and the Mediterranean Exporters' Associations, with the participation of 14 companies from 6 sectors. Within the framework of the delegation program, approximately 90 bilateral business meetings were held between Turkish and Japanese companies.
