Turkish Natural Stone in the Construction of the New Dutch Embassy in Ankara

Turkish Natural Stone in the Construction of the New Dutch Embassy in Ankara
Dutch Ambassador to Ankara Joep Wijnands said at the groundbreaking ceremony of the new embassy building, "It is also a very nice project to show the cooperation between Turkey and the Netherlands. All of the materials to be used for the embassy building will be supplied from Turkey."
The groundbreaking ceremony was held in the area where the new embassy building will be constructed by the Dutch Embassy in Ankara.
Speaking here, Wijnands pointed out the importance of Turkish-Dutch relations, stating that they are celebrating the 100th anniversary of friendship between the two countries this year.
Wijnands stated that this is a perfect moment to build the new embassy, saying, "In many ways, this is a cooperation project. Firstly, it was designed by a Dutch architect, but it will be built by a Turkish company. Therefore, we will work together on this. All of the materials to be used for the embassy building will be supplied from Turkey."
Stating that natural stones will be supplied first, Wijnands said that all the designs to be used inside the embassy when the building is completed will bear traces from the Netherlands and Turkey.
Wijnands noted that this is a joint project in many ways, and stated that he and his team will have a beautiful and new embassy building in 2026.
Pointing out that one of the most important elements of this building is sustainability, Wijnands drew attention to the fact that the structure will not be an ordinary embassy building, but a pioneering project.
Wijnands stated that, in addition to sustainability, the building will also generate its own energy with solar panels, and added that there will be a water tank and plenty of green around the building.
Emphasizing that this will be the most sustainable embassy of the Netherlands worldwide, Wijnands noted that they are proud of this very special project and are happy that construction has started.
